It's almost that time of year... San Diego. It's crazy what Comic Con has turned into. Hotel reservations start in February, only we forgot for about four hours and by the time we went online to book a room, EVERYTHING was filled up! Luckily for us Oni has some extra rooms and we snagged one for ourselves. So next Friday we'll be driving on down to enter the madness that is San Diego Comic Con.
Our biggest news and the project we're very excited to be promoting in San Diego is JUMPSCARS. It's a four issue miniseries that we're doing through Oni that is a tie-in to a major motion picture coming out in February 2008. JUMPER (the movie) stars Samuel L. Jackson, Hayden Christensen and Diane Lane. Our 4 issue series will be telling a prequel story that looks at a significant event in Diane Lane's character's past. One of the coolest things about this project is that we get to work with Brian Hurtt again. We've missed him! He's been doing excellent work and we've already seen his pencils on Issue 1.
Among other things we'll be pimping in San Diego is DESTINY'S HAND, VOLUME 2 due out later this summer and AMAZING AGENT LUNA, VOLUME 4 due out some time this fall. We love our Seven Seas books and these two projects have been a real blast to work on. Sadly, both series will be wrapping up after one more volume for each (Volume 3 for DH which we're already at work on and Volume 5 for Luna). If we're lucky though, it won't be the end for either set of characters. We're working on Jason to let us relaunch with new story arcs.
As for things happening in the immediate future, be sure to check out OUTSIDERS: FIVE OF A KIND - NIGHTWING & BOOMERANG due out August 1st. It's the first of a five part series that should be a lot of fun. We were psyched when we were asked to write this issue because I love Nightwing. And in writing the issue, we found out that we both kinda dug Boomerang, too.
